Cunard

Classic Cruising On Board Classic Vessels

Cunard is by far the most storied and most celebrated cruise line in the world. These are classic, ocean going vessels built for luxury and long duration cruises. Cunard’s current fleet includes the Queen Mary 2®, Queen Elizabeth 2® and Queen Victoria™ and, like their namesakes, they are elegant and graceful. They are and have always been The Most Famous Ocean Liners in the World®.

Cunard: Puttin’ On the Ritz

The style on board Cunard is decidedly luxurious and elegant with a certain amount of formality. While many modern cruise lines have become more casual and less structured to appeal to a modern cruise passenger, Cunard has maintained a stately, almost regal approach; a decision that has maintained its large percentage of repeat passengers. From grand ballrooms to posh dining and white linen service, Cunard pulls out all the stops when it comes to service and amenities. While the cruise line does offer a variety of cruises and itineraries, it is perhaps best known for its transatlantic sailings between New York and Southampton. This cruise intensive itinerary is well suited to the cruise line’s lecture series, in affiliation with Oxford University, which affords guests the opportunity to hear lectures and exchange ideas on everything from astrology to Shakespeare.

Only on Cunard

Cunard’s menus have been developed and overseen by world renowned executive chef Todd English. The cruise line’s Queen Mary 2® holds the distinction of maintaining the largest library at sea, the largest wine cellar at sea, ten different dining choices—including an English style pub—14 lounges, and a $5 million art collection which includes 300 original works of art. Cunard is likely one of the world’s only cruise lines that its nation’s monarch has pressed the vessel into service during a time of war; the venerable Queen Elizabeth 2®—at the behest of her namesake—spent time in the Falklands conflict in 1982 serving its queen and country.
