Tampa - Florida
Tuesday 1st December 2009

Downtown Tampa was a very pleasant experience with a very easy going atmosphere, little traffic, lots of interconnecting waterways, walking and jogging paths along the waterside and great hotels. Many of the Downtown hotels offer free shuttle buses within either a 2 or 3 mile radius of their property which is more than enough to take you to Ybor City one of the main dining and entertainment locations in Tampa. The shuttles will also take you to the Aquarium located close to Tampa Cruise Terminal which is also a great location for coffee shops,
restaurants and shopping. Tampa has its own International Airport and Air Canada have flights via Toronoto but many people from New Brunswick may prefer to fly with Jetblue or Allegiant Air into St Petes.
We visited several hotels on our trip including the Sheraton, Westin and Howard Johnson as well as Embassy Suites and all are in a great Downtown area with easy access to all the attractions listed below. This was our
first visit to Tampa but it will not be our last and its only a 90 minute drive from Orlando.
Tampa is perhaps best know for Busch Gardens but consider that they also boast the Tampa Bay Buccaners (NFL), the Tampa Bay Rays (Baseball) and the Tampa Bay Lightning (Hockey) and you can see that Tampa is a
great place for a vacation. With St Petes Beaches and Clearwater as well as many more resorts on its doorstep Tampa is a great alternative to Orlando for a year round sun destination
