About Me
My name is Sylvia Moran and I am a Travel Counsellor based in Wyoming, Ontario - a small town located between Sarnia and London.
I was born in Slovakia and moved to Canada with my sister, mother & father when I was 7 years old. When we had moved away from my home country (at that time Czhecoslovakia) it was communist so we had to escape & live in a refugee camp in Austria for 1 year until we were sponsored to live in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada.
I grew up mainly in Sarnia, Petrolia and Owen Sound and travelled lots to visit family back in Europe. I enjoyed travelling so much that I knew a career in travel was the right choice for me. So I moved to London to attend Westervelt College for Travel & Tourism.
After college I married and spent a 3 week honeymoon backpacking (with a rail pass) through Europe where I was able to explore France, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy & Greece.
I have also travelled to many warm destinations which include Bahamas, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, St. Martin, Costa Rica & Mexico (Cozumel & Cancun). Last year I took my kids (aged 7 & 10) to Disney World where we had a magical time. They already asking to go again…maybe a Disney Cruise might be in our future!
In my busier times when I don’t have much time for travelling I still made sure I treat myself to shorter getaways. I have spent weekends in Chicago, New York City, Las Vegas, Florida and on cruises visiting Bahamas, Key West & Cozumel.
Exploring beautiful Canada has also been very important to me and I have been lucky to see a big part of it including British Columbia, the Rocky Mountains, most of Ontario, old Quebec City & some of the East Coast.
I have a passion for travel & learning new cultures and that’s why I love being a travel counselor. I enjoy finding out about & exploring new places. It makes me feel good when I can help friends & family find that perfect holiday to suit their needs and I hope to help you do the same!
